Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation and tender preparation for demolition, earthworks and reinstatement projects. You will work closely with contractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure financial compliance and successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender documentation for projects of varying scale.
• Conduct site investigations, measurements and valuations to produce accurate cost assessments.
• Analyse specifications, drawings and project requirements to calculate material, plant, disposal and labour costs.
• Manage contract documentation, variations and ensure compliance with financial and contractual obligations.
• Monitor budgets, prepare financial reports and progress claims for senior management and clients.
• Liaise with main contractors, consultants and sub‑contractors to resolve cost‑related queries.
• Negotiate variation orders and identify value‑engineering opportunities.
• Maintain comprehensive records of costs, variations and contractual amendments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience on the contractor side, preferably in demolition or earthworks.
• Formal qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Working knowledge of PSSCOC, Security of Payment Act (SOPA) and BCA regulatory processes.
• Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu or PlanSwift for take‑off and estimating.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
