Senior / Radiographer, NUHS Diagnostics

About the role

NUHS Diagnostics is hiring a Senior / Radiographer to provide prompt diagnostic imaging services to patients while ensuring patient safety and proper care of equipment. The role also involves assisting the Centre In-charge, Senior or Principal Radiographer in guiding and supervising junior and student radiographers when required.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general radiographic examinations and/or at least one area of specialty, including mammography and/or ultrasound and/or bone mineral densitometry.
• Ensure patient safety and welfare, and maintain a clean, safe environment following radiation safety and infection control practices.
• Care for all equipment at the diagnostic centre and keep the allocated area tidy.
• Carry out administrative duties and ad-hoc quality departmental projects assigned by the reporting officer or Lead Radiographer.
• Apply the ALARA principle for all procedures and help ensure quality control procedures are followed.
• Deliver prompt, courteous service to external and internal customers and run their area efficiently.
• Take part in continuous medical education and quality assurance programmes, and achieve AHPC certification within one or two years depending on qualifications.

Required profile

• Recognized degree in Diagnostic Radiography.
• R1 licence with the Centre for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Sciences, National Environment Agency, kept up to date and renewed.
• Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
• Good written and verbal communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills, and ability to work under pressure.
• Service-oriented, customer-focused, compassionate and a good team player.

Preferred skills

• Mammography and ultrasound experience.
• Ability to communicate in vernacular languages.
• Basic programming knowledge and advanced use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of NGEMR, Epic and RISPACS.

Working hours are on a 5.5-day work week.
