Senior Research Fellow – Molecular & Cellular Biology

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU is seeking a highly motivated Senior/Research Fellow to lead mechanistic studies of autophagy and mitophagy. The role involves independent project leadership within the Nguyen Lab, contributing to the broader Cancer Discovery and Regenerative Medicine Program.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments investigating molecular mechanisms of autophagy and mitophagy.
• Apply biochemical and molecular approaches such as protein interaction studies and signalling pathway analysis.
• Develop and utilise in‑vivo models, including mouse systems, to translate findings.
• Integrate biochemical data with cellular and physiological outcomes to address disease‑relevant questions.
• Plan, lead, and analyse independent research projects.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation and help shape future research directions.

Required profile

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in leading independent research projects.
• Strong publication record in autophagy, mitophagy, aging, neurodegeneration, or cancer.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

• Biochemical techniques (e.g., protein interaction assays).
• Molecular biology methods (e.g., gene expression analysis).
• Cell biology approaches, including advanced 3D cultures.
• In‑vivo mouse model development and handling.
• Data analysis and interpretation of experimental results.
