Senior Researcher, Large Language Models

About the role

Tencent's Lightspeed Studios develops games such as PUBG Mobile, and its Lightspeed Tech Center is an R&D department that researches and provides technical services for engines, audio, QA, AI and next-generation game technologies. This Senior Researcher role focuses on building and improving agents based on large language models for game use.

Key responsibilities

• Develop agents based on large language models and optimise their performance.
• Work with game designers and engineers to integrate LLM-powered agents into live game environments, meeting latency, cost and player experience requirements.
• Research cutting-edge techniques in LLM reasoning, planning, tool-use and memory, and adapt them to game agent scenarios.

Required profile

• Familiarity with machine learning foundations, with a strong understanding of statistical models and experience on NLP-related projects.
• Publication of academic results in top-tier AI and NLP conferences (e.g. ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, EMNLP, ACL) is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Familiarity with basic data structures and algorithms.
