Senior Software Engineer, Ecosystem

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Ecosystem & Integration Platform team in Singapore. The team builds the platforms and integrations that connect Airwallex with the software customers already rely on, covering ecosystem products, developer infrastructure and partner integrations. The role is based in the Singapore office five days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve platforms and integrations across accounting, HR, ERP, marketplace, payment and open-banking systems.
• Build secure, reliable APIs, SDKs, webhooks and UI-extension patterns so third-party developers can build on Airwallex.
• Shape the technical roadmap for the App Marketplace and Extension Framework, including architecture, coding standards, observability and security.
• Improve the developer experience through documentation, sandboxes and tooling, working with backend, product, design and go-to-market teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing internet applications, large financial systems or e-commerce platforms.
• Direct experience building or maintaining a public-facing developer platform, app marketplace or extension framework.
• Experience designing APIs and integrations with external financial institutions or third-party platforms.
• Experience developing scalable, reliable systems and working with cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable owning the roadmap and outcomes, and comfortable with ambiguity.

Required skills

• Strong programming or scripting skills in Java, Kotlin, C++, Python or a similar language.
• Preferred: deep expertise in Domain-Driven Design.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and advanced observability tools.
• Preferred: experience integrating AI or large language models to automate integration workflows or improve developer tooling.
