Senior Software Engineer (Generative AI)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialized in Generative AI to join its Foundry R&D team in Singapore. You will design and deliver scalable backend services that power AI‑driven features across Mastercard’s payment ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend microservices in Java (Spring Boot) or Python to expose generative AI capabilities via APIs.
• Collaborate with data‑science and ML teams to productionise models, manage data flows, and integrate external AI services.
• Ensure high performance and reliability through testing, profiling, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Work in an agile, cross‑functional environment with product, design, and data‑science stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience building APIs and microservices.
• Hands‑on experience integrating AI/ML models or services into production systems.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, authentication, and data management.
• Proven ability to write unit and integration tests and to troubleshoot production issues.
