Senior Software Engineer, Scale Platform (Frontend)

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Scale Platform frontend team in Singapore. The team builds the multi-tenant infrastructure that lets platforms embed Airwallex financial products quickly and securely, working with ReactJS and TypeScript.

Key responsibilities

• Build frontend experiences and platform capabilities that help companies embed Airwallex products at speed, working with ReactJS and TypeScript for multi-tenant systems, cross-domain features and enterprise integrations.
• Translate complex business, regulatory and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable user experiences, balancing tenant isolation, performance, resilience and delivery speed.
• Build frontend capabilities for multi-tenant platforms, balancing tenant isolation with resource efficiency and long-term extensibility.
• Own cross-domain product features and design enterprise integrations by turning customer needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Partner with Product, Design, Compliance and Sales to turn complex requirements into clear, reliable experiences.
• Make pragmatic trade-offs between performance, maintainability and delivery speed based on business impact.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Strong judgment in choosing the right level of abstraction, balancing flexibility and simplicity in system and component design.
• Clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and pragmatic decisions on performance versus velocity.
• Experience in cross-functional teams spanning Product, Design, Compliance and Sales.
• Track record of designing for scale, maintainability and production excellence.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and able to collaborate across cultures.

Preferred profile

• Experience in fintech, payments or another regulated industry.
• Performance tuning at high scale (100k+ QPS, large user bases, strict latency SLAs).
• Background in multi-tenant SaaS or platform architecture.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka or cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, API design, developer documentation, cross-region deployment or data residency compliance.
• Solutions engineering or customer-facing technical experience.
