Senior Solution Engineer, Public Sector

About the role

Snowflake is hiring a Senior Solution Engineer for its Public Sector practice in Singapore and the broader ASEAN region. The role partners with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering and Marketing to grow the existing public sector customer base, acting as a trusted technical advisor who helps government agencies realise value from the Snowflake Data Cloud, expand workloads and adopt AI/ML and data applications. It calls for deep technical expertise, knowledge of the public sector landscape and strong customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to identify and execute expansion opportunities within existing public sector accounts.
• Present Snowflake's technology, roadmap and vision to executives and technical leaders, and build and deliver demos and workshops.
• Work hands-on with customers to design and validate new solutions across analytics, data sharing, data engineering, AI/ML and data applications, from proof-of-concept to production.
• Conduct technical discovery and architecture reviews, and support RFPs, RFIs and security/compliance reviews.
• Advocate for cost management and FinOps best practices, and provide public-sector-specific feedback to Product, Engineering and Marketing.
• Mentor peers and support field enablement.

Required profile

• Extensive customer-facing solution engineering or pre-sales experience, ideally in data, analytics or cloud platforms, with a proven track record of expansion or upsell.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Singapore / ASEAN public sector customers or other regulated environments, and understanding of government procurement and regulatory expectations.
• Strong presentation, stakeholder management and value-based selling skills.

Required skills

• Modern data stack: ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data lakes / lakehouse, analytics, AI/ML and generative AI.
• SQL and at least one of Python, Spark or similar.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and security, governance and compliance concepts.
• Strongly desired: large-scale data platforms and migrations, programming beyond SQL, BI tools, and public sector or government background.
