Senior Staff Physical Verification CAD Engineer

About the role

Marvell is looking for a Senior Staff Physical Verification CAD Engineer to join its Central Engineering team. The engineer plays a leading role in developing next-generation automated design flow and its add-on tools, and helps define the organization's design infrastructure, methodology and workflows. The role sustains and scales physical verification flow development and user support as Marvell expands its product lines and moves toward advanced technologies such as A14, 2nm, 3nm, N5/N5A, 3DIC and PMIC.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain leading-edge physical verification (PV) flows for Marvell's business units, and contribute to their deployment and support.
• Work with the team to integrate the flows into the overall CAD platform and collaborate with predominantly non-US IP suppliers to deliver high-quality, timely PV signoff.
• Support onboarding of extensive third-party IP and help improve turnaround time with dual Calibre and ICV signoff flows.
• Solve growing design challenges, keep up with process and tool evolution, and interface with EDA vendors for optimal tool usage.

Required profile

• BS in CS/EE with 5-10 years of experience, or MS/PhD with 3-5 years of experience.
• Proven ability to lead projects, give technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
• Eligibility to access export-controlled information under U.S. export control laws; export license review may apply to non-U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics and scripting languages (Tcl, Perl, Python).
• Synopsys ICV is required; Mentor Calibre svrf/tvf is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the full IC design flow, from front-end (RTL, synthesis, simulation) to back-end physical implementation (place and route, timing analysis, physical verification).
