Senior/Engineer STPG Product Engineering - Probe

About the role

Micron is hiring a Senior/Engineer for STPG Product Engineering - Probe. The role owns probe strategy and silicon learning at wafer test, covering pre-silicon design-to-probe staging, first-silicon bring-up, qualification and high-volume manufacturing. It defines probe coverage intent, sets limits and guard-bands based on silicon behavior, and drives yield, quality and test-cost outcomes, working with Design, DFT, DV, Process Integration, Backend Test and Reliability teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define probe coverage intent and observability, and define, release and sustain probe test flows from first silicon through qualification and HVM
• Establish probe limits and guard-bands based on silicon characterization, design intent and customer specs
• Lead probe enablement for NPI and technology ramps, and partner with Design, DFT and DV on pre-silicon staging and DFT architecture
• Support first-silicon bring-up, device characterization and early silicon learning to stabilize probe flow and ramp yield
• Drive wafer-level yield learning, bin definitions, failure-mode analysis and screening strategies with Reliability
• Optimize test efficiency and cost through coverage right-sizing, flow optimization and WLS activities
• Use probe, inline and reliability data for yield analysis and anomaly detection, and contribute to AI/ML initiatives such as predictive probe and smart sampling

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Engineering (hardware, circuits or semiconductor focus), Semiconductor Physics or related field
• Strong fundamentals in semiconductor devices, wafer test and product engineering
• Experience or strong interest in silicon learning, device behavior, yield mechanisms, DFT intent or design-to-manufacturing integration
• Ability to use silicon characterization data to make informed probe, yield and coverage decisions
• Strong analytical skills, structured root-cause analysis, and effective communication across global, cross-functional teams
