Service Technician – Marine Equipment

About the role

We are looking for a Service Technician to install, commission, test, troubleshoot and repair marine navigation, communication and electronic equipment on commercial and offshore vessels as well as marine installations. The role involves on‑site work at ports, shipyards, customer premises and offshore locations, both locally and overseas.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out installation, commissioning, testing and repair of marine navigation, communication and electronic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, calibration and corrective maintenance to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards.
• Diagnose technical faults using appropriate test equipment and recommend repair solutions to minimise vessel downtime.
• Respond to service calls at ports, shipyards, customer sites and offshore locations, including occasional after‑hours emergencies.
• Prepare accurate service reports, maintenance records, inspection findings and technical documentation after each assignment.
• Provide technical support, operational guidance and basic user training to customers.
• Coordinate with service teams, logistics and customers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Assist in equipment commissioning, Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT), sea trials, retrofit projects and new vessel deliveries.

Required profile

• Diploma, NITEC, Higher NITEC or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience servicing, installing, commissioning or maintaining maritime equipment.
• Willingness to work onboard vessels, travel locally and overseas, and respond to occasional emergency calls.
• Strong communication, customer service and problem‑solving abilities.
