Shift Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for its Fab 10N/X site. The engineer plans production to meet weekly output targets, on-time delivery to customers, machine utilization and inventory levels, and helps area management run production in a cost-efficient way. The role also involves integrating AI-assisted tools into daily work.

Key responsibilities

• Generate production plans and execution strategies to meet output, on-time delivery, cycle time and day-of-inventory metrics
• Analyze daily production progress and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues affecting delivery schedules
• Create and implement systems for material flow, production processes, inventory control and human work factors
• Drive continuous improvement to improve cycle time and delivery performance
• Serve as the main point of contact for in-line planning and production control
• Forecast production logistics and direct materials, and review resource inventory against supply fluctuations
• Identify bottlenecks and constraints in existing and new processes with support groups
• Ensure a safe work environment by inspecting work areas and correcting hazards promptly
• Use AI-enabled tools responsibly and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science
• Willingness to work non-standard hours, such as compressed or 12-hour night shifts
• Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills
• Effective communicator who collaborates across all levels
• Growth mindset and interest in the semiconductor industry and Micron
• Leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable

Required skills

• Digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI tools for research, analysis, problem-solving and operational tasks
• Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
