Shipping Assistant – Import/Export Documentation

About the role

The Shipping Assistant supports the end‑to‑end import and export processes for sea and air freight. Based in Central Singapore, you will work closely with clients, shipping lines and internal teams to ensure smooth documentation and cargo movement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage all import/export paperwork, including shipping documents, invoices, permits and cargo insurance.
• Liaise with clients for certificate applications and coordinate with freight forwarders to schedule container transshipments.
• Submit Bill of Lading drafts, generate original Bills of Lading via online platforms, and handle permit applications through Tradeweb.
• Compile documentation packages for bank transactions such as DIP, D/A and L/C.
• Scan, file and maintain records in the in‑house server system.
• Arrange local delivery documents, coordinate warehouse collection, and manage transport logistics for LCL clearances.
• Monitor shipping line nominations and update import container records.
• Provide ad‑hoc support for additional logistics tasks as required.

Required profile

• Minimum O‑Level education.
• At least 1 year of experience handling shipping documentation.
• Familiarity with import/export processes; experience with Tradeweb or Tradenet is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
