Shipping Operator – Petrochemical Cargo Management

About the role

The Shipping Operator will manage end‑to‑end petrochemical cargo movements for a leading oil & gas trading organisation in Singapore, reporting to the Shipping Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel nominations, movements and liaise with shipowners, charterers, terminals, inspectors and agents.
• Prepare and manage all shipping documentation, including charter parties and cargo paperwork.
• Monitor voyage performance, ensure timely cargo delivery and track operational costs.
• Support demurrage activities and manage laytime calculations.
• Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and HSSE standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in shipping operations within petrochemical, oil & gas or commodity trading.
• Strong knowledge of charter parties, laytime and demurrage processes.
• Familiarity with tanker operations and maritime regulatory requirements.
• Excellent coordination, communication and problem‑solving abilities in a fast‑paced trading environment.
