Site Engineer

About the role

As a Site Engineer you will safeguard the technical integrity of Global Switch’s data centre infrastructure. Working on a maintenance‑led basis, you will ensure that all engineering systems operate safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Apply engineering design frameworks to delivery and maintenance functions, aligning with technical standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation such as specifications, risk assessments and technical evaluations.
• Support design assurance, compliance protocols and engineering governance across projects and maintenance programmes.
• Provide technical input on infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with engineering requirements and risk management.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors and internal teams to review design outputs and validate assumptions for mechanical, electrical and environmental systems.
• Ensure the integrity and resilience of electrical power supply systems, including medium‑voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs and backup generators.
• Guarantee that all activities comply with internal governance and external regulatory standards across campuses.

Required profile

• Hands‑on engineering professional with a passion for maintaining critical infrastructure.
• Strong foundation in mechanical or electrical systems, comfortable in mission‑critical environments.
• Methodical approach to maintenance, fault identification, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with operations teams, contractors, consultants and technical specialists.
