Software Development Engineer – Backend (Java/Go)

About the role

Autodesk is seeking a motivated Software Development Engineer to join the PSET‑Access team. You will design, build, test, and operate backend services that enable secure, reliable, and scalable access to product capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain production‑grade backend software using Java or Go.
• Deliver well‑scoped features and technical improvements with growing independence.
• Build and enhance services, APIs, libraries, and tooling supporting access‑related workflows.
• Write clear, maintainable, well‑tested code and actively participate in code and design reviews.
• Debug production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and improve system reliability, observability, performance, security, and operational readiness.
• Participate in monitoring, incident response, and other operational responsibilities.
• Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and other engineering teams to deliver effective solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional software development experience with Java or Go as primary language.
• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, APIs, testing, debugging, and version control.
• Ability to understand existing codebases and make safe, maintainable changes.
• Experience writing automated tests and diagnosing software defects.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.
• Effective communication of technical ideas and collaborative teamwork.
