Software Engineer II, Billing

About the role

Airwallex’s Billing Team is building a next‑generation, scalable billing platform that powers pricing, invoicing and payment flows for global businesses. As a Software Engineer II you will help design and deliver core components of this platform, working closely with product, finance and engineering teams across Singapore and Shanghai.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design and implementation of billing‑related systems within Airwallex.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate business needs into technical specifications, system analysis and architecture design.
• Develop micro‑service components using the company’s framework and ensure high‑quality, maintainable code.
• Introduce innovative technologies and solutions to improve platform performance and reliability.
• Mentor and help build the technical team, establishing coding standards and best practices.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of Core Java development experience.
• 2 + years building large‑scale internet, financial or e‑commerce applications.
• 1 + year experience developing payment platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
