Software Engineer – KDB+/Q & Python (AVP level)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Software Engineer at the AVP level to design, develop, and modernise large‑scale KDB+ and Python based systems that power real‑time market data and trading analytics for a leading global financial institution.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement high‑performance, low‑latency trading infrastructure components.
• Develop and maintain KDB+/Q databases handling tick data and time‑series datasets.
• Build Python services for real‑time market data ingestion, processing, and analytics.
• Collaborate with front‑office and electronic trading teams across credit, equities, FX, rates, and commodities.
• Modernise existing platforms using containerised deployments and cloud‑enabled architectures such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• Ensure system reliability, scalability, and compliance with trading‑floor requirements.

Required profile

• Strong experience building and operating KDB+/Q based systems, preferably with tick or market‑data streams.
• Solid Python development background in high‑throughput environments.
• Proven track record delivering low‑latency, high‑performance solutions for trading or large‑scale data processing.
• Exposure to front‑office/electronic trading technology across multiple asset classes.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms and cloud‑native deployment models is highly advantageous.
