Software Engineer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

About the role

The role supports GovTech in a specialized capacity, contributing to the development and maintenance of critical technological infrastructure and services for the Singapore government. You will design, develop, and implement robust, scalable digital solutions, conduct testing, and provide technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable government digital solutions.
• Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance for new and existing systems.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for various applications and platforms.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product owners, engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development, system administration, or technical support.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, Go).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps principles.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and learn complex systems.
