About the role

The School of Information Technology is looking for a Software Engineer to support industry and applied R&D projects. You will design, develop, and deliver software solutions while guiding final‑year students on their projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop software for industry and research projects.
• Collaborate with project managers or leads to meet project deliverables.
• Supervise and mentor final‑year students on their capstone projects.
• Stay engaged with emerging software development practices and applied research.
• Potentially transition to a Lecturer role based on performance and institutional needs.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in software and system development.
• Ability to leverage AI‑assisted coding tools for efficiency and quality.
• Practical knowledge of cloud computing for project deployment.
• Experience working with Agile software development methodology.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
