Software Engineering Intern - Overseas AdTech Data Systems

About the role

Tencent AMS is setting up a core engineering hub in Singapore to build its overseas advertising data infrastructure. It is looking for a motivated Software Engineering Intern to help develop next-generation ad-data systems natively on AWS. You will work alongside experienced senior engineers on high-concurrency advertising logic such as real-time attribution and massive log processing.

Key responsibilities

• Build, test and maintain advertising data services on AWS, with exposure to EKS, MSK and S3
• Develop and optimise real-time and batch processing pipelines using Flink, Spark and HBase for large ad-log flows
• Write unit and integration tests, and help monitor stability and troubleshoot basic performance issues
• Implement features supporting 24/7 ad-tech operations with high traffic and low latency
• Support technical solutions for data isolation and regional compliance for global users

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Strong analytical skills and ability to debug code
• Professional working proficiency in English and Mandarin, as meetings and documents are reviewed in both languages

Required skills

• Solid Java programming, data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design
• Interest in big data frameworks such as Flink, Spark and HBase
• Basic cloud concepts; Linux, Git and Docker/Kubernetes highly preferred
• Preferred: familiarity with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor and ChatGPT
