Staff Engineer GFac S. Asia - Mechanical

About the role

Micron is hiring a Staff Engineer for its Global Facilities (GFac) team covering South Asia, based at Fab 10A in Singapore. You will provide technical support, expertise and lead business-process alignment on construction project design, management, schedule, cost control, testing and commissioning, and operational and maintenance programs for the mechanical systems at manufacturing sites in your region. You will also support the Global Facilities Central Engineering, Construction, Line Planning and O&M teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and construction of regional green-field projects aligned to global standards, working with central sustainability, cost, construction and line-planning teams.
• Support site projects, Alpha-to-Beta technology transfer and sustainability projects, and review and approve site capacity expansion and sustainability CAPEX.
• Support site system improvement projects, reliability improvements, quality improvement and equipment end-of-life replacements.
• Oversee regional efforts to align strategic programs such as BCP, critical specs and quality defense lines, and support major SIPP reviews.
• Share lessons learned at regional events and influence global standards development.
• Act as single point of contact for regional sites and GFC central teams, and provide metrics reporting alignment.
• Technically lead a global cross-functional team of site mechanical engineers, including on-site presence for construction projects and critical mechanical failures.
• Support TPM implementation, utility quality improvement through variation reduction (SPC), and alignment of SPC, conformance, SIPP, MOC and 8D methods across the network.
• Drive cost reduction and energy optimization, and ensure consistent preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Analyze and benchmark equipment performance, develop training and certification programs, and set metrics such as on-time PMs, MTTF and MTTR.
• Review FIPA/METS events, support sustainability projects and data validation, and benchmark system performance for a best-in-class approach.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in mechanical systems within the semiconductor industry.
• Proven experience in construction design and engineering for mechanical systems, with hands-on involvement in project execution.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, and strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to solve problems across multi-functional, multi-cultural groups and to lead teams to meet challenging deadlines.
