Staff STPG NAND Product Development Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Staff Engineer in its System and Technology Product Group (STPG) to own the technical scope of NAND Test Chip Vehicle (TCV) development. The role covers pre-silicon validation, post-silicon characterization, simulation-to-silicon correlation and technology learning to improve future NAND architectures. It suits someone who can independently drive complex technical issues and influence design, process, technology development and test stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own pre-silicon validation, simulation coverage, regression development and correlation for TCV programs
• Analyze simulation results to find architecture, device, performance and margin sensitivities affecting tape-out readiness
• Own post-silicon validation, characterization, debug and silicon learning for TCV devices
• Drive root cause analysis of silicon anomalies and define test modes, patterns, stress conditions and characterization methods
• Lead data-driven problem solving and partner with Design, Technology Development, Process Integration and Test organizations
• Work with Test Solutions Engineering on probe code, test flows and characterization strategies
• Develop technical documentation, best practices and reusable methodologies, and mentor less-experienced engineers

Required profile

• PhD with at least 2 years, or Master's with at least 5 years, or Bachelor's with at least 7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, materials science, chemical engineering, physics or a related field, with semiconductor industry expertise
• Demonstrated experience owning pre-silicon simulation/regression and post-silicon validation for complex semiconductor designs
• Experience driving technical problem resolution with a high degree of independence

Required skills

• Strong understanding of CMOS/MOSFET device physics, memory circuits and NAND flash architectures
• Pre-silicon simulation environments, regression methodologies and simulation-to-silicon correlation
• Data analysis, scripting and statistics with Python, JMP or equivalent
• Working knowledge of DFT, probe test infrastructure, failure analysis and silicon characterization
• Advanced analytics, machine learning or AI applied to engineering datasets

Preferred: deep NAND flash and test chip experience, and experience with firmware-assisted test modes and experimental silicon features.
