Staff/Senior Product Manager (0-1 Billing)

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is looking for a Staff/Senior Product Manager focused on its billing and invoicing business unit. The role defines and drives the payments and billing product strategy, from vision and solution design to roadmap planning and execution, and manages and mentors a team of Product Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the payments and billing product strategy, covering cross-border payments, FX, settlements, reconciliation, invoicing and subscription billing.
• Build and enhance billing and invoicing solutions supporting recurring payments, automated reconciliation and global compliance.
• Leverage AI/ML insights to optimise billing, for example automated invoice categorisation, payment reconciliation, fraud prevention, churn prediction and personalised billing.
• Work with engineering, design, data science and commercial teams to deliver scalable, reliable and compliant global billing products.
• Inform product strategy by understanding customer billing needs, payment flows, target markets and the competitive fintech landscape.
• Rapidly iterate on new features such as subscription management, smart invoicing and flexible pricing models.
• Manage and mentor a team of Product Managers, fostering innovation, experimentation and responsible AI adoption.

Required profile

• 5-10 years of experience in Product Management, with exposure to payments, billing, invoicing or financial services.
• Proven track record of taking products from ideation to delivery at scale, ideally in global payments, billing platforms or digital wallets.
• Experience building or managing billing systems (subscription billing, invoicing, automated reconciliation, recurring payments).
• Ability to balance long-term vision with short-term growth and execution, and flexibility to work across time zones.
• Preferred: background in hyper-growth startups, fintech or software engineering; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Finance or a related field.
