Student Welfare Officer - Student Care

About the role

ITE College East is hiring a Student Welfare Officer to provide holistic social work support to students at risk. You will work with students and their families, community partners and stakeholders within ITE, with the aim of helping students complete their studies, supporting family work with relevant agencies and accessing resources such as financial aid.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with students and understand their challenges
• Provide case assessment and set goals and outcomes for work with students and families
• Visit students' homes or other locations for assessment and support
• Refer students and families to relevant stakeholders inside and outside ITE
• Collaborate with ITE departments, government and community agencies to deliver holistic care
• Document, track, monitor and report on student cases, including collating data
• Provide re-integration or transition support for students
• Implement psycho-social-educational programmes

Required profile

• Credentials in a relevant discipline such as social work are an advantage
• At least 2 years of direct clinical work or casework experience in the social service sector, working with youth and their families
• Good knowledge of the social services landscape in Singapore
• Passion for working with youth and their families, cultural sensitivity and openness to diverse views
• Emotional stability, resourcefulness and resilience
