Superintendent – Railway Operations & Maintenance

About the role

The position supports operations, maintenance coordination, and safety management within a railway testing and operational environment. You will oversee track access, contractor activities, and daily site operations at a rail test centre.

Key responsibilities

• Manage track access systems and coordinate weekly restricted‑area access arrangements.
• Chair coordination meetings with clients and contractors for track access requests and operational activities.
• Oversee training programmes to ensure staff, contractors and track users meet operational and safety requirements.
• Lead Assistant Superintendents in daily operations, site supervision and safety audits.
• Prepare management presentations, reports, tender documentation and operational coordination materials.
• Review safety and operational documents, method statements and reports.
• Manage contractors and maintenance activities for building services, railway systems, signalling, communication and control systems.
• Coordinate operational and maintenance activities within the rail test centre and support overseas assignments when required.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in railway operations, train testing, commissioning or rail system environments is preferred.
• Proven ability to manage contractors, operational coordination or maintenance activities.
• Strong leadership, coordination and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Self‑motivated, willing to learn and adaptable to cross‑functional responsibilities.
• Class 3 driving licence is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and presentations.
