Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Silicon Labs is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to protect product quality from silicon to shipment. The SQE works with semiconductor foundries, OSATs and contract manufacturers to drive continuous improvement, resolve complex quality issues and support new product introductions. The role sits within a cross-functional network including Supplier Management, Product Quality, Product Test Engineering, Planning, Packaging Engineering, Foundry Engineering, Failure Analysis and Sales.

Key responsibilities

• Drive collaboration with suppliers and manufacturing partners to achieve high product and process quality in line with Silicon Labs requirements and industry standards
• Lead cross-functional teams to contain supplier quality issues, determine root cause, implement corrective and preventive actions and ensure resolution
• Analyze abnormality material holds and manufacturing deviations, evaluate risks and help dispose of affected product through Material Review Boards (MRB)
• Run supplier gap analyses, share lessons learned and benchmark, and carry out periodic supplier audits of quality systems and process control
• Support change management, product qualifications and ongoing reliability and quality monitoring with suppliers and supplier managers
• Help achieve supplier quality KPI targets and maintain quality management system and corporate social responsibility certifications

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related field
• 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, tools and methods, statistical data analysis and continuous improvement
• Good understanding of semiconductor technology and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, JEDEC and environmental regulations (RoHS/REACH)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
