System Senior Staff Engineer - Floor Care

About the role

Flextronics is looking for a System Senior Staff Engineer (floor care) based in Changi, Singapore. Working with other design team members, the engineer defines system architecture and assesses feasibility to meet customer requirements, from conceptual prototypes through to full-scale production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead system integration projects with cross-functional teams and act as main technical interface for customers and suppliers of critical parts
• Help supervisors ensure department PDPs are correctly implemented
• Organize periodic technical team meetings to resolve system problems
• Prepare system documentation (requirements and design) on schedule and highlight schedule, allocation and resource issues to DPM
• Review System RA, dFMEA and pFMEA, and verify their links and implementation
• Review the test strategy, including System Integration fault injection, and ensure the correct split between SW/EE/ME/QE tests
• Support DPM in updating the action tracker and defect tracking system for inter-department dependencies and bug resolution
• Act as independent reviewer in subsystem documentation reviews up to requirement and architecture

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Software, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 15+ years of experience in floor care product development and system architecture, with cross-functional expertise across Electrical, Software and Mechanical Engineering
• Hands-on experience in electrical system design and integration for floor care products is highly preferred, especially in BLDC motor control, battery charging and BMS, sensor integration, user interfaces, thermal protection and wireless connectivity

• Knowledge of embedded microcontroller architectures and HW/FW partitioning analysis techniques
• Requirement definition and testing
• Motor and airflow tuning, motor-airflow optimization, dust separation and cyclone performance optimization
