System Senior Staff Engineer

About the role

Flex is looking for a System Senior Staff Engineer based in Changi, Singapore, to support its teams that build products. Working with other design team members, the engineer defines system architecture and assesses feasibility to meet customer requirements, from conceptual prototypes through to full-scale production.

Key responsibilities

• Provide project technical leadership for system integration involving cross-functional teams
• Act as main technical interface for customers and suppliers of critical parts
• Help supervisors ensure department PDPs are correctly implemented
• Organize periodic technical team meetings to resolve system problems
• Ensure system documentation is prepared on schedule, owning system requirements and system design deliverables
• Highlight schedule, allocation and resource issues to DPM
• Review System RA, dFMEA and pFMEA, and verify their links and implementation
• Review the test strategy, including System Integration (fault injection), and ensure the correct split between SW/EE/ME/QE tests
• Support DPM in updating the action tracker and the defect tracking system to evaluate and assign bug resolution
• Take part in subsystem documentation reviews up to requirement and architecture as an independent reviewer

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 15 years of experience in wearable product development, with broad cross-functional expertise across Electrical, Software and Mechanical Engineering
• Candidates with a strong Electrical Engineering background are highly preferred

Required skills

• Knowledge of embedded microcontroller architectures and HW/FW partitioning analysis techniques
• Requirement definition and testing
• Hands-on experience in electrical system design and integration for wearable devices is highly preferred, especially low-power optimization, battery integration and battery management, antenna design and integration, and health and biosensors
