Tableau Developer with Business Analyst Skills

About the role

This role sits within a small team of about five people supporting business stakeholders within a Singapore sovereign fund. It combines business analysis, Tableau dashboard development and data analytics, turning business requirements into reporting and analytical solutions that support data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate is a Business Analyst with strong requirements analysis skills and hands-on Tableau expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business requirements with stakeholders, clarifying unclear needs and turning business problems into functional specifications, business rules, KPIs and acceptance criteria.
• Independently design and build Tableau dashboards, including calculated fields, LOD expressions and table calculations, and interactive features.
• Define metrics, dimensions, filters and drill-downs so dashboards meet business needs, and refine designs with stakeholders.
• Analyse data to find trends, anomalies and key drivers, and use SQL to extract, validate and reconcile data.
• Investigate reporting and data issues with stakeholders and technical teams, and coordinate delivery including requirements tracking, prioritisation, UAT and implementation.
• Improve existing dashboards and reporting processes to reduce manual effort.

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, business intelligence, data analytics or reporting roles.
• Strong business analysis: requirements elicitation, stakeholder engagement, functional specifications and business rules.
• Excellent Tableau skills, including independent dashboard development and data visualisation principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; able to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Hands-on Tableau development (calculated fields, LOD expressions, table calculations)
• SQL for data extraction, analysis and validation
• Nice to have: financial services background, Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, Snowflake, JIRA, and UAT coordination experience
