Tax Advisory Head – Gas & Related Services

About the role

Sembcorp’s Gas & Related Services (GRS) business unit is seeking an experienced tax leader to take full accountability for its tax function. Reporting as AVP, Tax, you will oversee compliance, reporting and advisory across multiple jurisdictions, supporting the company’s energy transition objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end tax matters for GRS, including Corporate Income Tax, GST/VAT, Transfer Pricing, property tax and Withholding Taxes across all operating jurisdictions.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance, filings and reporting while harmonising tax accounting policies across entities.
• Monitor regulatory changes, assess tax risks and opportunities, and implement robust controls aligned with Group tax frameworks.
• Lead tax due‑diligence for new investments, M&A, divestments and joint ventures, evaluating exposures and recommending mitigations.
• Provide strategic tax advisory on cross‑border investments, project financing, equity injections, shareholder loans and inter‑company service arrangements.
• Collaborate closely with business, legal and finance teams to design tax‑efficient structures that protect against leakage and post‑transaction risks.

Required profile

• AVP‑level experience managing a corporate tax function in a multinational environment.
• Deep knowledge of corporate income tax, GST/VAT, transfer pricing, property tax and withholding tax regimes.
• Proven track record in tax due‑diligence, structuring and advisory for M&A and cross‑border projects.
• Ability to work with shared finance services and maintain strong internal controls.
