Tax Manager – GST Advisory (Singapore)

About the role

Alvarez & Marsal’s Tax Practice in Singapore is seeking a Manager to lead GST advisory and compliance work for a diverse portfolio of corporate and private‑equity clients. The role combines technical GST expertise with client‑facing responsibilities, supporting cross‑border transactions and integrated due‑diligence projects.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on GST treatment for new business arrangements and cross‑border transactions.
• Prepare and submit GST registrations, exemptions, import schemes and rulings.
• Review and e‑file GST returns and Statements of Claims with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore.
• Conduct Assisted Self‑Help Kit (ASK), Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP) reviews and GST health‑checks.
• Draft responses to IRAS queries and support clients throughout audit processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related professional qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of GST experience, preferably in an international accounting firm.
• Strong analytical mindset, meticulous attention to detail and proactive attitude.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Team player comfortable in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Preferably an accredited member of the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (e.g., ATA‑GST).
