Technical Desktop Engineer – Contract

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Technical Desktop Engineer to provide frontline IT support for insurance agents and internal users. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, configuring laptops and tablets, and ensuring minimal downtime for end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Install, upgrade and troubleshoot Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365 and authorized desktop applications.
• Support and maintain printers, computer hardware and peripheral equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and remedial repairs on desktops, laptops and printers.
• Monitor, operate and restore service for PCs, laptops and terminal service clients.
• Escalate complex issues to Tier 3 support when required.
• Respond to hardware and application support queries escalated from the service desk.
• Track and maintain hardware and software inventory.
• Assist end‑users with basic hardware and software operations.
• Collaborate with vendors and IT teams for branch builds and upgrades.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in desktop support or IT help‑desk roles.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
• Experience supporting end‑users in a corporate environment.
