Technical Director, Mechanical

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Technical Director for Mechanical to lead its Singapore buildings business. You will provide authoritative technical leadership on complex mechanical building services projects, ensuring innovative, sustainable, and safe solutions for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and governance for mechanical building services design across major projects.
• Review and approve designs to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and best practices.
• Lead resolution of complex technical, design, and risk challenges.
• Oversee mechanical engineering delivery, ensuring quality, safety, cost, and programme outcomes.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and stakeholders.
• Support bids, tenders, and proposals with technical input, value engineering, and risk assessments.
• Set and maintain technical standards, design guides, and best‑practice frameworks.
• Mentor senior engineers and develop future technical leaders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated building solutions.
• Promote innovation, digital engineering, sustainability, and safety‑in‑design.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered/Professional Engineer status (PE, CPEng, or equivalent).
• 15+ years of experience in mechanical building services within a consulting environment.
• Proven delivery of complex, multidisciplinary building projects.
• Strong interest in innovative, energy‑efficient, and sustainable projects.
• Proactive, independent, and excellent communication skills in English.
