Technical Officer - School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology

About the role

ITE College West is hiring a Technical Officer for its School of Electronics and Information and Communication Technology. As support staff, the role supports policies and schemes in specific functional areas, covering procurement, asset management and training facility maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Procurement: assist in sourcing and checking quotations, submit procurement requests through the ITE financial system, and track deliveries until goods received is recorded.
• Asset management: register assets and store items in Workday, update descriptions and serial numbers, handle transfers, issue assets to staff, process retirement requests, collect related forms, and pack project components for distribution.
• Condemnation: carry out asset and store item condemnation exercises in line with policies and guidelines.
• Laboratory equipment, PCs and software: provide first-line support, arrange repairs from quotation to payment, and oversee software installation and maintenance with IT support.
• Lab and classroom facilities: oversee maintenance of lighting, AV systems, tables and chairs, monitor and replenish the first aid box, and raise small works orders for electrical, LAN, paint and W&B.

Required profile

• Minimum of three years of relevant working experience.
• Suitable technical credentials are advantageous.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills, excellent attention to detail.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and systems.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in an academic setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in asset management, including tracking and retirement processes.
• Technical expertise in lab equipment, PCs and software maintenance.
• Ability to work closely with IT support on technical facilities.
