Technical Specialist – Mechanical Associate

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Specialist (Mechanical Associate) to provide hands‑on technical expertise for our manufacturing operations. You will lead machine enhancements, manage preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure high‑quality production while supporting a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and lead production output and machine enhancement projects.
• Plan and perform preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate with engineers and subject‑matter experts to identify root causes of deviations.
• Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality Systems.
• Manage technician resources and monitor production waste and quality metrics.

Required profile

• Nitec or Diploma in an engineering discipline.
• 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming (advantageous).
• Familiarity with mechanical systems such as cam mechanisms, linkages, and pneumatic components.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and use AutoCAD.
• Basic electrical knowledge of sensors, motors and switches.
• Willingness to work overtime and flexible to shift between day and night as production demands.
