Technologist - ChemLab

About the role

Micron is hiring a Technologist for its Chemical Laboratory in a clean-room Fab facility. The role follows standard operating procedures to analyse routine samples and report to internal customers, using analytical techniques and instrumentation such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titration, particle sizing, volume and weight measurements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse routine samples according to SOPs and report results to internal customers.
• Prepare standard samples and reagents, including vapor phase deposition (VPD), extraction, digestion and serial dilutions.
• Monitor and sustain equipment, perform preventative maintenance on assigned tools and take part in Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities, including 6S audits, housekeeping and keeping stock of reagents, standards, spare parts and consumables.
• Collaborate with area chemists to troubleshoot analytical and equipment issues and keep the Chemistry Laboratory Manager informed.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality and effectiveness, and share AI-enabled improvements with colleagues.

Required profile

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Science, Life or Biomedical Science, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic problems and address root causes, with good teamwork and multitasking skills.
• Flexible to work 12-hour shifts and rotate day/night shifts as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of analytical equipment such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, titrators and gas-liquid mass spectrometry is preferred.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of analytical techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Preferred: Tableau, Excel VBA, Microsoft automation tools and/or Python.
