Tenured Professor of Physics (Joint NTU & Southampton)

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at Nanyang Technological University seeks a tenured Professor of Physics to lead research in photonics and strengthen collaboration with the University of Southampton. The successful candidate will join a vibrant, multidisciplinary environment and help shape the future of the Division of Physics and Applied Physics.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead a world‑class research program in photonics or related areas.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and develop new curricula.
• Supervise and mentor PhD students, post‑doctoral researchers, and research staff.
• Secure competitive research grants and publish in top‑tier journals.
• Collaborate closely with the Centre for Disruptive Photonic Technologies (CDPT) at NTU and the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at the University of Southampton.
• Participate in administrative, leadership, and service activities within the School and University.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics or a closely related discipline.
• Strong record of high‑impact publications in reputable international journals.
• Demonstrated success in obtaining competitive research funding.
• Extensive experience supervising research personnel, including post‑docs and PhD candidates.
• Proven ability to work across disciplines and institutions.
