Test Development Engineer – Low Voltage Electronics

About the role

Join Tesla's Electronics Test and Automation Group to support manufacturing test of low‑voltage electronic hardware. You will set up, debug, and maintain test equipment, working closely with test and failure‑analysis engineers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise automated test equipment and software for low‑voltage and RF products.
• Troubleshoot test‑related issues and implement corrective actions with cross‑functional teams.
• Support production test specifications, schematics and technical documentation.
• Develop test process improvements, including hardware and software updates.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve test issues and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on equipment failures and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records to meet quality and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience debugging and repairing electronic circuits and systems.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing test environments and failure analysis.
• Ability to work on‑site with contract manufacturers and cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Python programming on Linux platforms.
• Electronics troubleshooting and repair.
• RF (Radio Frequency) hardware testing.
• Test equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Root‑cause analysis and documentation.
