TIG Welder

About the role

Join NTS Singapore as a TIG Welder, specializing in precision sheet‑metal fabrication and welded assemblies for stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminium components. You will produce high‑quality welds that meet engineering, dimensional, quality and cosmetic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform precision TIG (GTAW) welding on thin sheet‑metal, frames, brackets, structures and assemblies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols and specifications to set appropriate parameters and ensure accurate fit‑up.
• Prepare, align, clamp and tack components using jigs and fixtures to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Control heat input and sequence to minimize distortion and achieve required penetration, strength and appearance.
• Inspect welds, identify defects, perform grinding, blending and approved rework as needed.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools and fixtures while adhering to safety, quality, 5S and manufacturing procedures.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of hands‑on TIG welding experience, strong with stainless steel and carbon steel.
• Proven ability to work independently, set welding parameters and produce cosmetically acceptable welds.
• Good knowledge of filler materials, shielding gases, tungsten selection and distortion control.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, symbols, dimensions and tolerances.

Required skills

• Precision TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminium.
• Reading engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Use of measuring tools such as Vernier calipers, tapes, squares and gauges.
• Selection of filler materials, shielding gases and tungsten types.
