Transport and Logistics Intern

About the role

ING is offering a 6-month internship in its Transport and Logistics sector team, covering January to June 2027. The team finances the Shipping, Aviation and Container industries, and the internship sits within the ING Wholesale Bank Asia Pacific internship programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with portfolio emissions analysis, reporting and reconciliation of data for the shipping portfolio
• Take part in structuring and assessing sustainability-linked performance targets and KPIs
• Help develop sector-specific policies and procedures
• Monitor internal metrics and KPIs related to the sector's exposure
• Assess the application of climate scenarios and decarbonisation trajectories for the sub-sectors
• Coordinate with global teams on internal and external sustainability requirements
• Support ad hoc reporting, covenant tracking, admin forms and banking procedures
• Assist the coverage team with credit analysis, financial analysis, pitch decks, client meetings and market updates
• Take part in internal analytics and data management product development and updates

Required profile

• Finance, sustainability or business studies degree, with interest in a career in financial services
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with global teams
• Detail-oriented, systematic and analytical, with strong self-motivation and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work independently

Required skills

• Affinity for accounting, data analysis and modelling
• Good familiarity with Excel, including advanced functions and complex data sets
• Power BI knowledge is an advantage
