Underwriting Specialist - Life and Health Insurance

About the role

Prudential is hiring an Underwriting Specialist to assess the medical and financial risks of applicants for life and health insurance policies. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate the risk and exposure of potential clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess medical and financial risks of applicants for life and health insurance policies
• Make decisions, within the given authority, that are consistent with underwriting standards and compatible with market trends
• Review cases with complex medical conditions and multiple risk factors
• Process a customer request end to end
• Support Financial Consultants on underwriting matters
• Provide face-to-face service to the sales team at PruBusiness Centres on new business matters
• Take part in ad hoc projects

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in life and health underwriting
• Sound knowledge of medical conditions, insurance laws and regulations
• Good understanding of insurance products
• Degree in Nursing or Biomedical Science/Engineering
