Urban Designer I (Entry Level)

About the role

Perkins&Will Singapore is looking for an Urban Designer I to join its multidisciplinary design team. This entry‑level position supports the full design process, from research and analysis to the production of client‑ready presentations, under routine guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in site analysis, program evaluation, and data gathering using quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Develop conceptual and detailed design drawings through hand sketching, physical modeling, and digital tools.
• Prepare master‑plan reports, design guidelines, and presentation materials for clients and public meetings.
• Coordinate revisions, mock‑ups, and deliverables with internal teams and external consultants.
• Integrate zoning, policy, and urban framework requirements into design solutions.
• Participate actively in team workshops, design charrettes, reviews, and pin‑ups.
• Maintain clear communication with the project leader and ensure documentation complies with the Project Delivery Manual.

Required profile

• 0‑3 years of experience in planning or urban design projects.
• Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to ask questions throughout the design process.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced studio environment.

Required skills

• Site and design research, site analytics, planning and zoning code analytics.
• Hand‑drawn and digital sketching, physical modeling.
• Functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software (Revit, Rhino).
• Digital sketching/diagramming software (Illustrator).
• Analytical tools (ArcGIS, Grasshopper).
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Visualization tools (Enscape, VRay).
