Vice President, ASEAN FX Strategist

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is looking for an experienced Vice President Senior Currency Analyst to join its Asia Global Market Research team in Singapore. The role centres on producing research reports on ASEAN economies and foreign exchange rates, with a focus on INR, VND and PHP, and contributes to the organisation's visibility across international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Produce research reports on ASEAN economic trends and FX rates, especially INR, VND and PHP
• Contribute to daily FX updates, weekly market reviews and quarterly outlooks
• Develop thematic studies and ad-hoc commentary on economic data, policy changes and currency movements
• Create and maintain quantitative models for economic indicators and FX forecasting
• Collaborate with colleagues in Tokyo, London, New York and other locations
• Engage clients through seminars, webinars, conference calls, company visits and business trips
• Build partnerships with sales teams, traders and relationship managers
• Coach and mentor junior team members
• Ensure compliance with regulations, internal policies, risk controls and dual-entity guidelines

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience in global markets, preferably in Singapore or another regional market
• At least 8 years of economic or FX research in financial services or related sectors
• Bachelor's degree or higher in economics, finance or a related field
• Experience building models for economic indicators or FX forecasting
• Strong presentation skills and stakeholder management
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks for financial institutions and dual-entity arrangements
