Vice President, Business Management

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Vice President of Business Management based in Singapore. The role leads strategic planning for APAC operations, working with Front Office staff, branch operations leaders, product experts and technology partners to improve operational efficiency. It involves overseeing complex projects, analysing KPIs and resource plans, and representing operational views in solution design.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to regional operations planning with actionable recommendations for senior management
• Lead end-to-end process reengineering in Trade Finance (LC, BG, documentary collections, trade loans, supply chain finance, trade operations)
• Develop strategies for APAC operations: operating models, standardisation, digital transformation and productivity improvements
• Oversee cross-functional, cross-border projects with governance, milestones, risk assessment and benefit realisation
• Monitor KPIs and evaluate branch resource plans to optimise capacity and costs
• Provide timely reporting on performance trends and exceptions
• Plan and run regional conferences and governance forums, and represent regional views in solution design

Required profile

• At least 8 years in trade and banking operations, with process transformation and regional or cross-border stakeholder experience
• Experience managing process reengineering projects, including change management, governance and benefit realisation
• Ownership and accountability, able to lead regional initiatives independently
• Proven stakeholder management across seniority levels, functions and locations
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's in Business/Finance/Banking or a Trade Finance certification is advantageous

Required skills

• Digital transformation concepts, automation and AI applications
• Data visualisation tools such as Tableau (preferred but not mandatory)
• Advanced Microsoft Office suite
• Lean Six Sigma, PMP, CBPP or recognised change-management certification (e.g. Prosci) are desirable
