Vice President, Trade Finance for Financial Institutions (Transaction Banking, Asia)

About the role

MUFG is looking for a Vice President, Trade Finance for Financial Institutions to join its Transaction Banking team in Singapore. As part of a specialist client-facing sales team, you will originate, structure and execute trade finance solutions for banks and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) across Asia Pacific, contributing to regional revenue targets and sales KPIs.

Key responsibilities

• Drive origination for banks and NBFIs across Asia Pacific, building relationships with sponsors, insurers, asset managers, broker-dealers, public sector FIs, leasing firms, factoring companies, institutional investors, exchanges, DFIs and multilateral agencies.
• Develop an understanding of NBFI business models, funding structures, regulatory environments and competition, turning insights into sales strategies.
• Originate and execute documentary trade transactions such as working capital solutions and risk participation deals.
• Maintain a pipeline of NBFI opportunities and lead client engagement initiatives with high-quality sales service.
• Leverage the APAC network to originate cross-border deals and coordinate country teams.
• Work with Coverage, Product, Operations, Risk, Legal and other teams to implement transactions smoothly.
• Mentor colleagues and act as a subject matter expert on NBFI trade solutions.
• Ensure compliance with MUFG policies, regulatory requirements and risk appetite.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years' proven experience in LC issuance or confirmation, guarantees or SBLCs, working capital finance or structured trade at a leading trade finance bank.
• Bachelor's degree in banking, finance or a similar field.
• Demonstrable track record in trade finance sales and commercial origination, with exposure to NBFIs across Asia Pacific.
• Strong credit awareness and risk management skills, and ability to work across cultures in APAC.
