Visiting Full Professor – Chinese Studies

About the role

The Ngiam Family Visiting Professorship at Nanyang Technological University invites an internationally recognised scholar to join the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences for a two‑month appointment as a Visiting Full Professor in Chinese Studies. The role supports NTU’s commitment to cutting‑edge research on China and provides opportunities for teaching and mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct advanced research aligned with the annual thematic focus on China.
• Deliver lectures or seminars to undergraduate and graduate students where feasible.
• Mentor junior faculty members and contribute to scholarly community building.
• Collaborate with NTU researchers on interdisciplinary projects related to Chinese culture, economy, media, diaspora, or digital humanities.

Required profile

• Established international reputation in Chinese Studies or related fields.
• Track record of high‑impact publications and research leadership.
• Experience in teaching at the university level is desirable.
• Ability to engage with a diverse academic community in Singapore.

Required skills

• Expertise in one or more areas such as Chinese culture, heritage, digital humanities, Chinese economy, media landscapes, diaspora studies, or design and creativity.
