VP / Director, Energy, Metals & Resources Sector Coverage, APAC

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is looking for a Vice President or Director for its Energy, Metals and Resources (EM&R) Sector Coverage team in Singapore. The role sits within corporate and investment banking across APAC and focuses on originating and structuring complex debt and cross-border M&A financings for corporate clients, while providing sector insights to senior client executives.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and execute debt financing and capital structuring deals for clients in the Energy, Metals and Resources sector across APAC
• Engage senior client executives with thematic cross-sector insights and identify event-driven opportunities with local coverage teams and product specialists
• Lead origination and execution of corporate M&A and strategic debt financings, working with Emerging Energy Solutions, Renewables, Utilities, Infrastructure and Transport verticals
• Conduct due diligence analysis and loan structuring to support optimal risk-return outcomes
• Work with Project Finance, Leveraged Acquisition Finance, ECA Finance, Capital Markets, Ratings Advisory, Financial Markets and Transaction Banking teams
• Facilitate information exchange among global stakeholders and contribute to the bank's knowledge hub with credentials, proposals and marketing collateral
• Coach, mentor and train analysts and associates, and collaborate with coverage bankers, product teams and Capital Markets partners

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree; VP: minimum 8 years, Director: minimum 16 years in strategic financing deals, leverage finance or investment banking at a leading bank
• Proven track record of originating, structuring and executing strategic transactions with an established industry network
• Demonstrated expertise in corporate finance and M&A financing, with sector-based insights
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and respond promptly to time-critical requests
• Experience leading people through coaching and mentoring

Required skills

• Advanced financial analysis and modelling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Comprehensive understanding of the EM&R sector verticals and capital structure optimisation
