VP / Senior Manager – Operations & Engineering

About the role

NEU Battery Materials is seeking a senior leader to head Operations and Engineering as it scales its patented lithium‑battery recycling technology. The role will drive the transition from pilot to commercial plant, ensuring timely delivery, high performance and strict safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end scale‑up of the proprietary recycling process from lab‑scale to commercial‑scale, coordinating in‑house teams, external partners and EPC contractors.
• Define project scope, schedule, CAPEX and resource plans, and ensure delivery on time and within budget.
• Oversee process layout, utilities and infrastructure development, reviewing engineering deliverables, drawings and safety documentation.
• Build the Operations & Engineering organization, implement SOPs and establish quality, safety and performance standards.
• Manage the full material flow, drive OEE, uptime, yield and cost‑per‑ton KPIs, and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Lead process validation, performance testing and troubleshooting during commissioning.
• Secure and maintain all required Singapore permits and ensure compliance with chemical handling, safety and waste regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale engineering projects in the cleantech or industrial sector.
• Strong track record of delivering projects on schedule and within approved capital budgets.
• Deep understanding of safety, regulatory compliance and permit acquisition in Singapore.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high‑performing operations and engineering teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
