Weapons System Design Engineer

About the role

The Design Engineer will create and develop innovative mechanical solutions for small and medium calibre Remote Weapon Systems. This includes both new prototype projects and upgrades to existing platforms, ensuring performance, safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Study requirements and generate design concepts considering performance, cost, manufacturability and maintainability.
• Produce 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed drawings using Unigraphics or Pro‑Engineer.
• Select hardware components, manage system configuration, integrate parts and oversee product testing.
• Prepare technical documentation, test plans and present design reviews to stakeholders.
• Collaborate daily with electrical/electronics engineers, software programmers, vendors and customers.
• Conduct tests, analyse results and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–4 years of experience in mechanical systems design (entry‑level candidates are welcome).
• Understanding of mechatronics and software design is an advantage.
• Analytical, meticulous and able to think system‑wide.
• Independent, self‑driven and comfortable working in a team.
• Willingness to travel overseas.
